Due to the incredible variety of products available, it is not easy to choose which snowboard, boots, bindings, or complete set is best for you. Finding the perfect snowboard can be quite difficult, especially if you are a beginner. We want to motivate you and bring you closer to the joy of snowboarding because truly, snowboarding is one of the best things you can try. Let’s start the next season the right way!
To help you find equipment that fully meets your expectations, skills, and budget, we have prepared some useful tips. The first thing to consider when choosing a snowboard is knowing what you want to do with it and which riding style you prefer. When it comes to snowboarding, disciplines vary from all-mountain to freeride and freestyle. Boards come in different shapes, constructions, and profiles. But don't worry! We will help you choose!
SNOWBOARD You can achieve quick, visible results by riding a "rocker board." The contact point with the snow is in the middle of the board between the bindings. Because of this, rocker boards are easier to ride, more maneuverable, and more forgiving of beginner mistakes. Additionally, we recommend softer, more flexible boards. Soft boards are easier to steer and are suitable for beginners, though experienced boarders often choose them as well. There are three basic types of snowboards: freeride, freestyle, and alpine boards. A freeride board practically covers all riding styles. It is made for the mountain—deep snow, groomed runs, and off-piste—so it is firmer with a slightly longer nose and wider tail. A freestyle board is intended for snow parks and jumps. Alpine boards have a rounded tip and a flat tail, designed for higher speeds.
BINDINGS There are two ways to attach bindings to a snowboard: the EST system (only for Burton Channel Boards) and the traditional 4x4 disc system, where the binding is attached to the board with 4 screws.
BOOTS Finding the ideal pair of snowboard boots is not easy. For this reason, we want to give you a few tips. Besides design and functionality, the most important factors are correct sizing and comfort. There are many boots that differ in characteristics such as flexibility and lacing systems. In terms of stiffness, they can be divided into soft and hard boots. Lacing systems are categorized into three types: quick-fit lacing, BOA lacing, and traditional lacing.
All that's left is to choose the right snowboarding apparel—jacket, pants, goggles, and a helmet—and the snowboarding adventure can begin. The only thing left is to learn how to board. There are several ways to learn, but there is only one right way: SNOWBOARD SCHOOL.
