Cruiser A cruiser skateboard is a specific type of board designed for cruising through streets, urban environments, or any flat pavement. Many cruising boards feature a kicktail, which is the curved part at the rear end of the deck. However, this isn't always the case, and cruisers are not specialized for performing tricks like standard skateboards are. They are also not designed for high speeds or downhill riding.

Longboard A longboard is a type of skateboard characterized by longer decks and wheelbases, larger diameter and softer (lower durometer) wheels, and often a lower ride height compared to a street skateboard. Longboards were inspired by surfing; the first models featured surfboard-like designs, mimicking the movement of a surfboard but adapted for street riding in a practice known as "sidewalk surfing." Available in various shapes, longboards are typically designed and optimized for cruising (covering distances at moderate speeds), commuting (as a practical means of personal transportation), and downhill (racing).

The Difference A Cruiser is a shorter, lightweight board that is responsive and agile enough for riding in tight city areas. A full-sized Longboard has a wider turning radius but is significantly more stable at high speeds. Longboards are excellent for long-distance travel, riding on open roads, and tackling major downhill slopes.
